Educate a Child in Malawi Project will improve access to high school education to 200 needy high school students from the rural areas in Malawi. The Project will identify and support needy students who are struggling to pay for their school fees and scholastic materials in high schools. The Project will reduce school drop out due to lack of fees, writing materials and school shoes. It will also motivate students to work hard and improve pass rate. This will widen opportunities and end poverty.
Education is a birth right for every child regardless of his/her social economic situations. However, the story is different in Malawi, particularly in the rural and hard to reach areas. Equitable access to quality education is very poor. It's very demotivating and heart breaking to see hardworking students losing their hard-earned places in High schools because their parents and families cannot manage to pay fees due to poverty fueled by the negative impact of climate change like floods.
The Project will support 200 needy students with fees and scholastic materials to attain high school education. The Project will identify and sponsor needy students who are likely to drop out of school or fail to report to schools due to lack of school fees and materials such as uniform, shoes, text books and other necessities. This will improve equitable access to quality education for the poor students from poor families. The project will provide education counselling through motivation talks.
Education breaks vicious cycle of poverty. When we invest in education, we are investing in the future generation. This project will improve equitable access to quality education for students from poor families who always dropout due to lack of fees, uniform, shoes and writing materials. The Project will help students from rural and poor families to get higher education that would empower them to build their future. After graduation, they will lead in developing their families and communities.
