Needed Actions for Community Care and Development(NACC) formerly called Namwera Aids Coordinating Committee is an indigenous and non-profit NGO established in 1996 as a community response to HIV and AIDS pandemic in Namwera.
NACC exists to work with vulnerable communities to develop household resilience in addressing developmental issues in Malawi NACC is working in Mangochi, Machinga, Zomba and Mulanje districts in the Southern region of Malawi.
NACC has been expanding its scope of work and geographical coverage. Currently, NACC has just rebranded to its new name which has been registered by the government of Malawi, through a collaborative effort of Mangochi District Hospital and Social Welfare.
A reliable partner in community driven solutions using multiple approaches such as Community Action Group (CAG), Human Centered Design (HCD), Comprehensive Community Scorecard (CCS), Communication for Development (C4D) and Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) among others.
The Malawi Government through Ministry of Gender, Children and Community Development accredited NACC as an Integrated Early Childhood Development Resource Centre.
NACC received Certificate of Excellence for providing high quality IECD services. NACC is an active member of National ECD, Child Protection and Secondary Education Technical Working Groups.

The goal of IECD is to create a stimulating environment that promote holistic child development. To achieve this goal, NACC is i) Building the capacity of families to meet the need of their children using Care for child development and Nurturing care tools ii) Building the capacity of key actors in early childhood development at community and district levels.
These actors include caregivers, CBOs, health workers, teachers, child protection officers, and community leaders among others to create conducive environment for child growth, survival and thrive.

Meet Joseph Chiutula, a person living with HIV who has been on Antiretroviral drugs(ARVs) for 32 years and is not ashamed to share his story! Born in 1952, Chiutula tested HIV positive in 1992 following a series of chronic sickness.
Just like most people, Chiutula could not believe the results and lived in denial.

The girl in white head scarf Aisha, 12 years old is in standard 4 learns at Changausya primary school. She dropped out of in October 2022 after getting married to a 17years old boy within her village.
The news of her drop out was reported by her friends at the girls’ corner, a forum for girls to support each other in life skills that NACC introduced. The forums which are school based are supervised by matrons who are female teachers.
